Samsung NC10 Sound Problem
I have a Samsung NC10 netbook and it is brilliant. The sound however has driven me mad. The speakers are tinny but worst of all the sound was horribly distorted even with earphones. After much fiddling I eventually found the solution. I opened the Realtek Sound Effect Manager in Control Panel. Under the Sound Effect tab there is a Karaoke icon, make sure that there is no X showing in the circle. If there is click to turn off. Set the environment to Padded Cell. Success sound back to normal! Make sure all the equaliser sliders are on Max

Thank you ... this has sorted my sound problem on my NC10 out!
Im having the same problem with nc10 netbook.
in realtek sound effect manager, there is no option for karaoke.
Is there another way to fix no sound problem??
Thanks
Thanks a lot, solved my problem too! Thanks for sharing.
These didn't work for me, but I disabled the whole equalizer - sounds perfect now! One wonders why Samsung does this kind of thing... at any rate, my experience is that no EQ = clear sound.
Only option that worked for me, was to disable the realtek EQ entirely. Once I did that, sound was crystal-clear again!
One does wonder! As long as you sorted the problem that's what counts.
